Allie Horwood is a dedicated Physiotherapist who believes in treating others exactly how she would want to be treated. This core value drives her to build meaningful connections with her clients and provide highly individualized care to ensure they reach their goals. Her impressive career features the unique privilege of helping NHL players recover from injuries and working alongside NHL officials at their training camps and combines. Allie also brings a strong background in inclusive wellness to her practice. During her time at McMaster, she volunteered with the MacWheelers program for individuals with spinal cord injuries and spent two years as the program coordinator for the Special Needs Assistance Program (SNAP) and Strive for Health. Whether working with a professional athlete or a local community member, Allie finds immense reward in making a positive, lasting impact on her patients’ lives.

Originally from Belleville, Allie now calls Sarnia home, where she lives with her husband, their dog, and their cat. She is an incredibly active individual with a lifelong passion for hockey, having played competitively in her youth before transitioning to a recreational women’s league today. An accomplished athlete, Allie is a long distance runner who has completed a full marathon and multiple half marathons, and she recently discovered a deep love for the sport of kickboxing. Living near Lake Huron allows her to spend her summers enjoying the water on her Sea Doo. Allie is also an avid traveler whose ultimate bucket list goal is to visit every continent. She loves hiking mountains around the world and collecting unique stories, though she humorously admits that she strongly dislikes flying and is completely petrified of snakes. Closer to home, she gives back to her community by volunteering annually at the local Hospice Gala and has previously dedicated her time to Taffy’s Legacy Canine Rescue. When she finally takes a moment to relax, you can usually find her curled up on the couch lost in a good book.
