At Cornerstone we strive to provide the best Physiotherapy experience anywhere in the world. We continuously seek feedback from patients and physicians to fine tune our service and ensure we are getting the best possible outcomes. Cornerstone Physiotherapists all participate in continuous learning provided by our clinical leadership team and various trusted educators in the field.
What Is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a profession, not a specific treatment. A great physiotherapist devises a treatment plan that is customized to an individual’s condition, goals and abilities.
All of our Physiotherapists are registered with the College Of Physiotherapists of Ontario. They are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions in their specific area of practice. The most common goals are to eliminate pain, improve function and optimize performance. This is achieved with a treatment plan that addresses the root cause of the condition, and by providing treatment in the form of manual therapy, exercise prescription, physical modalities, lifestyle modification and education. When physiotherapy is done well, it has a very powerful effect on the patient’s condition.

What to Expect From Your Cornerstone Physiotherapy Experience
A Detailed Assessment and an Accurate Diagnosis
At your first visit you will spend an hour with your physiotherapist in a private setting. During this hour you can expect:
- A detailed history of your current problem as well as your overall health.
- A physical examination of the problem area.
- Some physical testing to help determine other factors that are contributing to your problem.
- Measurement of current function and symptoms to enable tracking of progress.
- Consultation on your goals and commitment to the rehab process.
- The development of a focused treatment plan considering all of your needs and abilities.
- A detailed review of what you need to do between appointments to get the best results.
- Audiovisual resources to help guide you through the process.
- To begin in-person treatment on day one.
This is a critical visit. It is important to note that your condition will be continuously evaluated throughout the rehabilitation process. This ensures you are making the expected progress, and helps us fine tune your treatment plan to get the best results possible.
Each Appointment Moves You Forward
Follow-up appointments are 30 minutes long and are also spent one-on-one with your physiotherapist. The majority of your “hands-on” treatment is provided in follow-up appointments. Our Physiotherapists are trained to constantly evaluate your condition to provide the right treatment at the right time. This ensures each appointment moves you closer to your goals.

What our physiotherapy patients say...
I recently had my second experience of Cornerstone Physiotherapy, and once again was thoroughly pleased with the experience. The front desk staff are always friendly and helpful, and maintain all the recommended COVID protocols. The experience was professional and very helpful. In the end my knee feels good as new & I’m very pleased with the results and the entire experience.
What our physiotherapy patients say...
I have been a client of Cornerstone for several years: they’ve helped me overcome disabling shoulder pain, left knee injury and–most recently–right knee surgery. In each case, they progressed me to a point where I was stronger than before the injury. I strongly recommend Cornerstone for their understanding, professionalism and optimistic approach to exercise.
What our physiotherapy patients say...
Fantastic quality of physiotherapy! I’ve done physio in the past with limited success at getting my problems resolved. Cornerstone physiotherapists provided an efficient and practical approach that helped in a very short time frame. The entire team is very professional and warm.
What our physiotherapy patients say...
My doctor recommended Cornerstone for my herniated disc. She had heard from some of her patients that Hayley was amazing. She was right! Hayley is not only incredibly knowledgeable, she also listens. A few months later I returned for help with my leg muscles/feet and she gave me more exercises which have utterly transformed me. Cannot praise her enough.
What our physiotherapy patients say...
I have been attending Cornerstone Physiotherapy and have found their operation to be thoroughly professional. The reception staff does a great job of handling appointment bookings and processing claims. Alex R. is very professional and has a very friendly, supportive demeanor that is encouraging during the recovery process. Should I need assistance for any other injuries in the future, I would certainly go back to Cornerstone.
